ABOUT
The Linked Beanie is a unisex, crochet hat that's completely covered with intertwining cables that imitate a chain link fence. You're going to love learning new techniques and watching the cables emerge at the crown and twist their way down!
The pattern includes easy to follow, color coded instructions for 6 sizes. Plus, a video tutorial that goes over the "complicated" stitches, so there's no confusion!
CONSTRUCTION
The Linked Beanie is worked from the top-down in joined rounds.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
I designed this hat in the summer of 2022 (see pictures below) but never released the pattern because it was... well... complicated.
The pattern had stitches like "dc-fptc forward together" and "fptc back around 4th post AND dc together". And although they really weren't hard to work, I knew there would be some confusion. And, unfortunately, at that time, I didn't know how to make it easier.
I decided to move onto a simpler cabled design (the Cable Trapper Beanie) and WABAM! I finally figured out how to make intricate, top-down, cabled beanies without using crazy combo stitches!
